PRESIDENT

Leigh began his real estate career in 1993 and is currently a CRA designated appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) and member of the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board (GVREB). With a strong voice as an industry advocate, he volunteers as a Director of the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association (CMBA), past Executive Co-Chair Vancouver Chapter of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and Director of the BC Association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He is also co-founder and President of the Business Association of Real Estate Appraisers (BAREA). His favourite hobbies include mountain biking, snowboarding and hiking and he has a keen interest in architecture and design.

Jeremy has a Bachelor’s Degree from Camosun College in Business Administration and has previous experience as a Project Accountant for Kinetic Construction. Jeremy most enjoys the daily change of scenery that he observes as an appraiser and values the change of pace in comparison to a regular 9 – 5 job. In his spare time Jeremy plays baseball and is the president of his league. He competes each year at the highest level of men’s amateur baseball in Canada.

“Lewis is a rock star” is something we hear over and over from our clients which highlights his hardworking nature. He attended the University of British Columbia BC with a Diploma in Urban Land Economics and is also licensed realtor. He appreciates meeting with homeowners, speaking with clients and the challenge of the valuation process. He’s one of a rare breed of appraisers who love the tough files. As an avid golfer for 30 years, he’s still trying to achieve a hole-in-one.

Kris left a career in construction to become an appraiser which is evident in his keen eye for detail. Kris attended UBC Sauder School of Business – Urban Land Economics Program and has a Diploma in Aircraft Structural Repair from BCIT. He enjoys the diversity of the job as well as seeing really cool homes. Most people wouldn’t guess that he is secretly a big K-pop fan.

Meghan has been in the real estate field for over a decade with varied roles such as real estate conveyancer as well as an Examiner of Title at the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC. She really enjoys seeing a wide variety of properties while keeping her thumb on what is happening in the market. Appraisals completed for renovations are her favourite.  In her spare time, Meghan grows dahlias and she has over 50 plants in her backyard- nothing better than giving out fresh cut flowers!

His favourite word is ointment and least favourite word is guesstimate.

Phil loves all things fun but spends most of his time writing appraisal reports (also fun).

As the daughter of an appraisal legend, Shannon has appraisals in her blood. She joins Lawrenson Walker as a client experience expert after a demanding career in the hotel management sector. She loves to spend time at home or in the outdoors with her two daughters and Realtor husband. She’s a natural appraiser and brings an undeniable energy to the team.

Margaret graduated UBC with a Bachelor of Science in 2000 and has been with the company since 2005. Margaret is a designated CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and a CRP (Certified Reserve Fund Planner) with the Real Estate Institute of Canada. When she’s not appraising, Margaret likes to dance Tango.

Dustin has a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and Outdoor Leadership. He also owns an investment property that teaches him a lot about being a landlord. As an appraiser, Dustin loves the schedule flexibility, and getting to explore the rural area on the way to rural appraisals. In his off time, he has guided white water rafts for a few summers in Montana down the Alberton Gorge.

Kerwin holds a Diploma in Marketing Management – Real Estate from BCIT achieved in 1998 and has been actively appraising residential properties in the Vancouver Lower Mainland since 2006. As an appraiser he loves the opportunity to see a vast array of homes and buildings in many neighborhoods of the Lower Mainland. His hobbies include hi-fi, cars, sports, and tennis. He needs a bigger house because he has a collection of over 70 tennis racquets.

Prior to joining the Lawrenson Walker team in 2018, Michael had extensive experience in real estate sales. He has also achieved a diploma in Real Estate Appraisal from the Sauder School of Business. Magic Mike also has secret past as martial arts pro and once was the North American Amateur Kickboxing Champion.

Andrew is our Appraisal Review Manager and has been working as a residential appraiser in the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas since 2004. Andrew is a designated appraiser, having earned the CRA designation in 2008. He also achieved from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, a Diploma of Technology in Broadcast Communications. What he loves about his job is that he rarely the same day twice and there’s always a challenge to be faced. An interesting fact about Andrew is that he was an On-Air host on Expo Information Radio during the World’s Fair in 1986 and also interviewed the Chief Air Marshall of the Russian Air Force

If he ever go a “do over” in life, he would have invested in Netflix. Kevin is a true minimalist, enjoys the simple things in life including his secret indulgence, Masterpiece Theatre. AKA “The Appraisal Machine”.

Frank brings with him a wide range of education and experience. He has a BBA from Thompson Rivers University and a Marketing Diploma from BCIT. He entered the world of real estate sales and land development in 2006 and today he is an owner in various local project developments and he is an avid “student” of all things real estate. In a slightly more glamorous former life, this silver fox dabbled as a film producer and even pitched a movie at the Cannes Film Festival.

Many people are surprised to learn that many of the skills Smitty has learned in his earlier careers as a lifeguard, waiter, bartender, bouncer, national water polo player, college basketball and volleyball payer, Red Seal carpenter and NHL trainer, actually transfer well into the appraisal field. Chris’ analytic skills are his forte and he is a true student of the craft. Born in the Kooteneys and raised in Maple Ridge, he is a true local boy. His early life a as a competitive swimmer has slowed considerably and today you can find him slow cooking ribs on the BBQ or grinding his way up a mountain on his bike.

Sherry is an accredited CRA member of the Appraisal Institute to Canada and received her CRA designation in April 2007. She began her career as an appraiser in 2003 and joined our team in 2012. She currently holds a position on the Victoria Chapter executive for the Appraisal Institute of Canada and mentors three junior appraisers. A surprising fact about Sherry is that she has been to Disneyland over 20 times but not yet to Disney World.

Derek is our main man on the ground in the Okanagan. He has a psychology degree from the University of the Fraser Valley and has a background in real estate sales as well as construction. He loves viewing all different types of properties and working in an area where the real estate market is always an exciting hot topic. He’s been a golfer for 32 years and is still working on that elusive hole-in-one.

Chantelle is our star Partner in Alberta. She achieved a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. As a highly accomplished appraiser she has been in the field since she was 22 years old and at one point she managed 50+ appraisers at national appraisal firm.  An interesting fact about Chantelle was that she used to be a synchronized swimmer and water polo player.

Grant is our powerhouse in Calgary. He attended the University of Calgary, and the University of Athabasca for his BComm. Before appraising, he worked as a realtor as well as renovating and flipping houses.

Grant likes the adaptable schedule of the appraising profession, being able to spend time both in and out of the office, and having the opportunity to view and learn about a variety of real estate each day.

You’d never guess but Grant is a big music fan and has played in two bands.

A little known fact about her is that she, her husband and four children backpacked across Belize and Guatemala for a month.

Mike is a veteran of the real estate industry with 20 years as a Site Supervisor and Service Representative in new home construction. Mike attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology to obtain a Civil Engineering Technology diploma and he is an InterNACHI – Certified Master Inspector. Mike finds the best parts of appraising to be the variety of the position, getting out of the house every day and seeing the city grow and improve. Mike has had a wide variety of past jobs: butcher, baker, and home builder are among some of his most memorable titles; however, his favorite is “Papa”, to two wonderful grandchildren.
